The Effect of Coconut Water and Bap Towards The in Vitro Shoot Proliferation of Chrysanthemum morifolium VAR. MARIMAR.
Chrysanthemum morifolium is an ornamental plant that recently has had an increase in the demand.
The in vitro propagation of C. morifolium var. Marimar at UPT Agribisnis Pontianak resulted in the low
shoot produced. Therefore, the attempt for increasing the shoot proliferation by the utilization of
coconut water (CW) and 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) as the growth regulation in ½ MS media was
assessed in this project. The aim of this project was to determine the optimum concentration of CW
and BAP for C. morifolium var. Marimar shoot proliferation media. The concentration of CW used was
5%, 10%, 15%, and BAP with the concentration of 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 mg/L. To assess the effect of CW
and BAP concentrations, the observed parameters were time of axillary bud emergence, number of
shoot, and shoot length. All of the experimental data was analyzed with parametric one-way ANOVA,
and nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA by using SPSS IBM 25. One-way ANOVA revealed that there
was a significant difference between treatment media (CW and BAP) towards all tested parameters
