Tourism Development Strategy Based Oon Culinary Program in Kaimana Regency

The role of tourism in the development of a region is very important, even for a country,
tourism is an asset that must be managed and preserved. In addition, tourism also has an
important role in regional income. Assets that can generate finance and help the regional
economy. Kaimana Regency is one of the areas in West Papua which has a variety of
interesting spots. One that excels at this time is Triton Bay. Triton Bay has potential so it
must be developed, therefore a strategy is needed to be able to increase visitors, as well as
bring Triton Bay to a national and international scale. This research method uses qualitative
data methods. Data collection is done by means of interviews, observation, and
documentation. Other data techniques use Coding Analysis where this method is used to
know the perspective from local people there. The strategy carried out by the government
and the Department of Culture and Tourism is to increase visitor attraction. Through this
government program through Culinary Tourism to improve the quality of tourist attractions in
Kaimana. The purpose of this analysis is to find out what are the inhibiting factors and
supporting factors of the culinary tourism program in Kaimana.
