Residual Neural Network-based detection of colon cancer based on histopathological image

Axel Fortunio Shiloputra - Personal Name;

Cancer is a complex disease that involves the growth of cells inside the body. In 2020, more
than 10 million people died from cancer worldwide. One of them is colon cancer, which is the third
common type of cancer after breast and lung cancer. The colon cancer itself has around 1.9 million
cases and taking the lives of around 930.000 people. It began with a small cell, which later turns
into a big tumor if left untreated. While the symptoms of colon cancer can be varied such as
genetic factors or environmental issue, an early detection can save a life. One of the tools that
play pivotal role in detecting cancer is Artificial Intelligence. The Artificial Intelligence helps on
analyzing the image pattern by using CT scan, MRI scan, and X-Rays. To help the Artificial
Intelligence more, a Residual Network (ResNet) will be used in the programming and help reducing
human errors. Thus, Artificial Intelligence will be a big support on analyzing cancer, especially in
its early stage. By doing this, it will help more lives in the future.
